Leaders & Readers: I had a chat with Ingmar Hoerr about why he reads Labiotech.eu. He is the co-founder and CEO of CureVac, one of the most successful European biotechs.
This interview has just been lightly edited for grammar.
Why do you read Labiotech.eu, and how does it help you in your job?
I really like the fresh and precise style of the coverage, and also the clear view of what’s happening in the biotech industry. The field is very rapidly developing – Labiotech.eu’s articles help me see the woods for the trees.
How often do you read Labiotech.eu?
I try to read it as often as I can make time for it. I mostly read articles via the Labiotech.eu app: it’s a very quick and immediate way of catching up with the latest news. It’s really refreshing to see such an informative and inspiring news platform. (Available on the App Store and the Google Play Store)
How did you first hear about us?
In the summer of 2014, an associated biotech company in our neighborhood introduced us to the biotech film project, “LaBiotech Tour Germany.” We loved the project and the idea behind it, and we did not hesitate to take part. Ever since, we have had a close connection and never lost sight of each other.
(Editor’s Note: The tour was part of the project which developed into what is today Labiotech.eu)
What’s your favourite article?
That’s hard to say. I like so many articles – especially the ones on the different European biotech hotspots, and everything on mRNA Therapeutics. You really were one of the first media outlets to spot its disruptive potential.
(Have a look at our hottest articles on mRNA Therapeutics)
What else do you read in biotech/science?
At CureVac, we always try to be well informed on the field of biotech, and we have special interest in the progress in the development of mRNA-based therapeutics, of course. I try to reserve enough time to read full science articles. That’s the fun part of my rather administrative job: I always remain closely connected to science.
Many thanks to Ingmar! Now, I would love to hear why you read Labiotech.eu, just comment below or send me an email to maxime-at-labiotech.eu 😉
